New glass designer at Kosta Boda
In August 2000, Olle Brozén (born 1963) joined the ranks of designers at Kosta Boda. His studio will
be at the Ĺfors glassworks, where Ulrica Hydman-Vallien, Bertil Vallien and Gunnel Sahlin also work.
He met Sahlin at the Pilchuck School of glasswork in the USA, where she was a guest instructor at a
course taught by Dick Marquis. Vallien was his examiner at the Konstfack art institute in Stockholm
in 1996. “Olle’s gift is broad,” says Bertil Vallien, artist and designer at Kosta Boda since 1963.
“He can grasp the entire range of difficulties at a glassworks and work with both artistic glass and
production. His experience in working with glass is an ideal basis for starting here. He has an
excellent understanding of the material.”
