Per B Sundberg
"I want the observer to feel drawn into my work. It
should feel vaguely familiar, yet somehow strange."
Per B Sundberg (b 1964) has an unusual background, at
least among Orrefors designers, having worked as a studio
glassblower. He tained at Capellagården on the island of
Öland and Konstfack in Stockholm. Orrefors hired Per B
Sundberg in 1994 on the strength of his work on a special
project. His idiom is sculptural, with organic glass
forms inspiring associations to marble or ceramics. Among
his contributions to the Orrefors collection is the
powerful crusyal Move vase, for shich he has received an
Excellent Swedish Design award, and the Beach Treasures
votives.
